Today we learn about Paul and Barnabas and their first missionary journey. They were serving the church at Antioch for quite sometimes. When it is time for them to go to share the Gospel to another city, they sail and left Antioch. The church there is very supportive of Paul and Barnabas missionary trip.
So both of them went to Seleucia and later on sail by boat to Cyprus. Along the way, they always preach about the Gospel. They tell everybody that they met, be it in the Synagogue or at the market or any place where there is a big crowd, the 2 men always share on how we all need a savior to save us from our sin. And Jesus is the only Savior that is able to do so because He himself is God. Sometime they have good respond. A lot of people willing to open up their heart and believe in Jesus as their Savior. There also times where Paul and Barnabas got rejected and even chased out of the city. Do they give up? No. They keep sharing the good news faithfully until it is time for them to go back to Antioch.
Good news has to be shared. If we share good news on toys, events, food etc that does not relate to eternity, the more we should share The Really Good News about Gospel that will lead people to eternity.
Who is responsible to share the good news? Pastors? Sunday school teachers? No!! It is our responsibility as God’s children to share this good news to people surrounding us. No matter how is the respond from people surrounding us, we should not feel disheartened. We should keep sharing the Good News faithfully.
