Ringkasan:

Since Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, the people reacted to this miracle very differently. Some people came to believe him, but some went on to plot to kill him.

When Jesus was at the house of Simon the leper, Mary sat at his feet. She gave her most precious possession, the ointment of pure nard, which was very precious and had the value of more than 300 denarii (1 year’s wage of that time).

That moment was a Kairos moment for her. She poured out the perfume on Jesus’ feet and wiped it with her feet, to show her worship and devotion to God. She humbly gave all that she had to Jesus and laid it at his feet.

In contrast, Judas said, “why this waste”? Judas was more concerned about the money because he used to steal the treasury money. Jesus said, “leave her alone, she is doing this to prepare for the day of my burial. You will always have the poor, but you will not always have me.”

Jesus was pleased and accepted Mary’s act of devotion and worship. “Wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.”

Ayat Hafalan:

John 12:7
Jesus said, “Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial.”
