Lesson Focus:
• Learn to obey and follow God's calling because our God is a living God who keeps His promises.

One day, God called a man named Abram to go out from his home and even out from his country, to a land that God promised to Him. God also promised to Abram that He will make Abram to become a great nation and Abram will be a blessing. Abram was 75 years old when God called him.

Abram did not know where the land that God promised to him but Abram obeyed and went out from his home. Abram took all he had and went out with his wife, Sarai, his brother's son, Lot and also with all the people working for him.

You can imagine as a child, what if your parent tell you to move out from the house but they do not tell you where the destination is. Will you still obey your parent? Abram obeyed God because he knew that the God who called him is a living God who always keep His promises.

When Abram was 99 years old, God appeared again to Abram and told him that, from his son, his offspring will multiply greatly like stars in the sky. Can you count the stars…it is too many to count!
God also changed Abram's name to become Abraham which means FATHER OF GREAT NATION. God keeps renewing His promises to His people, including us because He loves His people and we are weak but He is strong.

If one day, God calls you to become a teacher, firefighter, nurse or doctor, you must say “Yes Lord, here I am, I will obey you” like how Abraham did. God will strengthen you so that you will be faithful and be able to obey His calling and follow Him for the rest of your life.
