Ringkasan:

We have been blessed with eyes to see the world, but sometimes we may fall into sin due to our own eyes.
David relation to God is very close but at the height of David’s success as a righteous and godly king, he stumbled into sin. From the moment he set eyes on Bathsheba, David turned his back on God, and his troubles began. His sorry affair with Bathsheba led to deceit, murder and the death of a baby. Finally, when the prophet Nathan confronted him, David confessed to the enormity of the wrong he had done. His response is recorded in Psalm 51. Guilt-ridden and ashamed, David confessed his sin, pleaded for cleansing and submitted to the chastisement of God. It was David’s fervent desire to be close to the Lord once again and to have his spiritual joy restored. God quickly and graciously forgave David, the “man after his own heart.”
David’s experience teaches us how to deal with sin in our lives. Take some time to examine your heart before the Lord. Read Psalm 51, and ask the Holy Spirit to probe and expose your sins. Confess them in true repentance, asking for forgiveness and imploring the Lord to give you deep delight in your relationship with him. Pray that, out of our own experience, we will be able to encourage the children to know that God forgives their disobedience and makes their hearts glad when they confess and turn from their sin.

Ayat Hafalan:

Psalm 23:2-3a
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.
